Meet the Artist

Hello, I’m Viola Joyner, the digital artist behind Melanated Art Prints.

With a background in abstract art, graphic design, and photography, having the talent to draw art in the free hand style was not blessed on me. However, in 2024, everything changed when I discovered the magic of AI-generated tools like Midjourney, Discord, and ChatGPT.

With the help of these innovative computer tools, I am now able to create art beyond my prior drawing ability. With the assistance from Adobe Photoshop and  Illustrator, I digitally enhance each image using my own unique artistic expression.

As I grow and develop as an artist, I plan to experiment and gain new artistic skills incorporating watercolor and acrylic paints and exploring mixed media to create original paintings.

To include a little bit about myself, I was born and raised in the windy city of Chicago, and my desire to be creative and to have my own business has been with me since I was about 10 years old. On my career journey, I am a nomad at heart and my curiosity of other cities led me to move to the Big Apple, New York City and lived in Brooklyn. Next, I relocated to the soulful city of the south, Atlanta, GA, then onward to living in fun-loving, glitzy Las Vegas, NV. Presently, I am residing in the desert heat of Phoenix, AZ.

So, there you have it - a glimpse into my nomadic heart and my love affair with big cities. Who knows where I'll end up next, perhaps London? One thing's for sure, my life’s journey is still unfolding!
